Chartway Group is passionate about protecting the environment and communities that we build in. We are always looking at new ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Our green credentials include providing Solar panels to a number of homes we build, cycle storage, rainwater butts and recycling in our office including those on sites.
We also do a number of other things which are listed below:
- We only use FSC or PEFC timbers
- Monitoring of transport distances
- Where possible we use local suppliers, manufacturers and trades personnel
- We use recycled aggregate and plastic products
- Ensure that we recycle all waste
Our offices in Coxheath were designed and built with the environment in mind. It is clad in sweet chestnut which was locally sourced and the building has a ground mounted solar PV array, with a solar thermal system, a ground source heat pump and a sedum roof. No additional source of heating or cooling is needed because of the energy efficiency of the building. These systems mean that no gas main supply is needed and provides us with a large reduction on our electricity bill.
